I have been under the care of Mrs Craig since march 2023. She is a fantastic doctor and made me feel at ease from day 1. She listened to everything I was feeling and carried out lots of investigations to find my problem and make me feel better. I’m very happy to say today was my last visit, I am so grateful I found Christine and would highly recommend her to anyone especially those out there who are nervous about showing/talking about this area of the body. I would also like to recommend the radiologist who works with Mrs Craig, Steve Lee. He conducted a proctogram on me 2 weeks ago. It’s not something you’re going to jump for joy doing however I felt completely at ease and not embarrassed at all.In fact I found it quite interesting looking at the monitor. He is a lovely doctor, who made me feel comfortable and at ease in an unusual situation. Thank you for that. Thank you to Mrs Craig for helping me cope these past few months.

Had a laying open with Seton placement to treat my anal fistula on 11th July and just had my 6 week checkup today. Really pleased with how its going and Mrs Craig as always was really supportive and encouraging to keep up with the flossing. For anyone embarking on this procedure, it is a daunting prospect but be reassured that its not as bad as you expect. The post operative pain was nowhere near what I feared and whilst the idea of flossing multiple times per day seems almost impossible to imagine it really isnt so bad. Its a little uncomfortable at the start and it may bleed a little but not to the point where you cannot do it! Week 6 into flossing and honestly I have got used to - dont love doing it buts its a means to an end and just part of my bathroom routine! Keep it clean (shower head is great) and use wet/toilette wipes. Sanitary pads in first few weeks but then move to cotton wool balls with a little talc between the cheeks to capture drainage fluid and keep you dry. Believe me, the flossing is doable and I am confident that in a few more months I will be cured and free of my fistula! So glad I did my research on surgeons/techniques and found Mrs Craig as flossing with Seton isnt common but its definitely working for me.

Over the last two and a half years I have undergone five operations for the condition, fistula-in-ano under the care of Mrs Craig. From the outset I felt I was in safe hands with Mrs Craig. Her bedside manner always led me to believe that the problem was treatable. She always talked me through the complexities of each procedure and assured me that though it was not an easy condition to treat their was light at the end of the (fistula) tunnel. After the 5th operation in February 2023 when the fistula was 'layed open' I felt that something positive was taking place. Gradually the signs of pain and discomfort slowly disappeared. I was programmed to have a review in June to assess the success or otherwise of the February operation. I was overjoyed, at the review, that Mrs Craig announced that she was happy with the progress and that she felt that my condition was now complete and I could be discharged. My sincere thanks to Mrs Craig and her support team for a successful conclusion.

Honestly, I was a little nervous about seeing Mrs Craig this afternoon for the first time because . . . well . . . bum doctor - and it’s a little embarrassing having a stranger examine your bottom. But from the moment she called my name in the waiting room, she was warm and friendly and smiling and funny and immediately put me at ease. Throughout the consultation she was down to Earth. She listened, understood, reassured and provided me with useful advice and helpful tips on treatment/ management. She happily addressed my concerns and questions without making me feel stupid. She was brilliant and it’s just a shame she can’t be my doctor for EVERYTHING - not just my bum. Thank you, Mrs Craig.
