When we first went to see Mrs Craig I was extremely anxious about my husbands condition. (Probably more anxious than my husband as he really hadn't taken in fully what was the problem.) We found a very caring person who made us feel that we were the only ones that she had been dealing with that day. She explained exactly (with a diagram) what was the matter and what she hoped to be able to do. She also explained fully what would happen if she couldn't get the bowel re-joined tightly enough to be used immediately. She was still 'fighting his corner' at surgery when another problem arose, but completed a successful operation. Together with her two trusted, caring nurses Tracey and Yvonne its a good team to have on your side.

Mrs Craig is a remarkable woman and an amazing surgeon. I first met Mrs Craig during an appointment at Trafford General with my Mum and, although the content of conversation was nerve wrecking and worrying, Mrs Craig was able to reassure us by clearly explaining my Mum’s case; including the possible negatives, as well as outlining the positives. Mrs Craig was understanding, welcoming and kind. The care and commitment from Mrs Craig did not stop after her operation, Mrs Craig made a clear effort to contact the next of kin after the operation, as well as visiting my Mum on the ward a number of times. It is clear Mrs Craig truly cares for the physical and mental welfare of all her patients. Without the help, advice and care from Mrs Craig and Tracey (who has been available to talk to during our times of need and distress), my Mum and I would not have managed as well as we have over the past few weeks. Although my Mum has been unlucky to receive a diagnosis of bowel cancer, I truly feel she was lucky to have been placed under the care of Mrs Craig - she clearly is a ‘superwoman!!’ Thank you Mrs Craig - I will be forever grateful. X

I was dealt with quickly and can not fault my care, through out and how thorough all the investigations were. The only thing was the letter arrived after my consultation which would have freed up Mrs Craig to see another patient

Mrs Craig gave me honest straight forward and clear information about my diagnosis and treatment every step of the way through my journey, she listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions, even if I asked the same one several times !! At no point did I feel rushed or " just a number ".

Mrs Craig has always been very clear on what my illness has been. She has explained every step of the way what was going to happen and spoke about the long term outcomes, which in my case have been extremely positive. Mrs Craig and Sister Tracey Purcell have been their for me and Tracey has pushed for results for me as she understands how stressful it is when awaiting for results back. Tracey has pushed to get my most recent CT scan results back and only due to her persistence, that i now have peace of mind as everything was clear. Many thanks to you both :)
