A total knee replacement by Zameer Shah, on February 4th, at The London Bridge Hospital, has resulted in me leading a normal, active life again after years of knee problems - six procedures in total since the late 1970s. I met Zameer after treatments and therapies for very painful bursitis in my hip had little or no effect. After MRI and X-Ray scans, and careful diagnosis, I reluctantly accepted that yet another op was necessary, but I'm now so glad I did: when Zameer went into my knee, it was obviously severely damaged. I was Chairman of two NHS Hospital Trusts and have been lucky to always receive first- class medical attention over the years. However, none has been better than the care and advice I have had from Zameer - and, incidentally, from all the staff at London Bridge Hospital run by HCA. With my medical experience I can honestly say that I have never been as impressed as by Zameer, whose skill and thoughtful care has led to a rapid recovery. Zameer should be considered to be one of the great orthopaedic surgeons of our time. Thank you. Conrad Blakey OBE
