Mr Flannery listened. When I first met him, one of my own GPs had said I was just a paranoid mother, but my son, Blue, was poorly. He was not even two, and I knew things were not right. A different GP sent us straight to RBH, and Mr Flannery saw Blue the very same day. My son attended many appointments in the ENT department, and Mr Flannery finally got a diagnosis. It was a rare condition, but he made me feel calm the whole time, always explaining everything so I understood what was going on, as there were so many fancy long words to get my head around.
My son is 21 this year, and still talks about Mr Flannery fondly. The man who gave him his special scar.
He is a credit to the medical world.
