Yesterday I spent nine hours in the ACU unit at Watford hospital, which was a soul-destroying experience. I was there to have a possible bowel problem investigated, which involved blood tests and a CT scan. The only bright spots in this lengthy ordeal were the staff members I encountered, in particular Mr. Pandey who was the Consultant on duty. He treated me with respect, sympathy and care. He understood my anxiety and did his best to reassure me.
Although he is a general surgeon he clearly had an in-depth knowledge of abdominal surgery and explained the situation clearly and carefully. Anyone who has this doctor to care for them is extremely lucky.
