Vikas was excellent and the best consultant I've seen in my short time spent in hospitals. He didn't muck or pander around, he was knowledgable and diagnosed my problem immediately, showed empathy and arranged an immediate operation. The hosptal was swamped and too busy to operate on me that day due to priority, however needing an emergency Op and being in a lot of pain and worry as a young male Vikas ensured I was at the hospital the following day before his shift started so I was the first patient he saw and could push me for surgery, and now I'm at home recovering quicker than I thought I would be, and will recover sooner than expected. Given how strained Watford are with patient count and how swamped the staff are, Vikas didn't treat me like a cog in the chain like the fed up nurses and general staff do, he made sure he showed empathy and was kind throughout, making me feel at ease and like he cared. Vikas genuinely cares about the patients he sees and ensures they reiceve the best treatment and care as possible, and even better for the NHS he gets things done, get patients in and out so great for all parties. A credit to the NHS

I found the whole experience far less intimidating than I feared. Dr Pandey told me what action he thought best for my ailment, and I was only too happy to comply. The procedure was carried out quickly and efficiently and healed well. Each time I returned to have the dressing changed the nurses were friendly and good at their work. Dr Pandey gave me the all clear yesterday. I was very interested in the problems that this department was obviously experiencing, with too many patients for the facilities, and to that end phoned my MP who is the one for Hertfordshire. Who knows what will happen but in March I will pursue this matter for my own satisfaction. I think the whole hospital should be enlarged as it copes with more patients due to other hospital closures and has more patients than was originally envisaged. I have absolutely no complaints - quite the reverse I have admiration for the goodwill I felt from Dr Pandy and all the staff, coping with good humour at the constant stream of patients.

I am 70 years young. My background is retired Army Staff Officer, retired Company General Manager. Last week I was referred as an emergency patient from Hemel Hempstead to Watford General within 30 minutes of arrival.(Excellent). At Watford General the process of assessment was initiated by Mr Pandey FRCS who following blood tests and scan established that I had a large kidney stone (endangering my kidney). He immediately referred me to the Hospital's Urology Department and I was operated on (Laser) by Mr Roux Consultant Urology Surgeon. The whole process lasted less than 48 hours. I feel privileged to have been dealt with throughout by a highly flexible, multi skilled, professional and Caring Medical Team. All Doctors and Nursing staff were Excellent and I am extremely grateful. (to say the least) Major (Retd.) D.G. Tilleke
