It has now been roughly 6 months since my surgery with Mr Minas (and bowel specialist Mr Nisar) and I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and endorse both surgeons. My Endometriosis diagnosis, as is typical, took over 25 years and I was finally diagnosed in 2021. My anatomy was now so badly distorted, the Endometriosis could be seen on both transvaginal US scans and an MRI. I found Mr Minas in early 2024. I booked to see him very easily online and despite a 2 hour train journey from where I live, I am so very grateful I did! From the moment I walked into his office, Mr Minas was the epitome of the caring, knowledgeable professional I had been missing all these years. My medical anxiety completely disappeared, as he reassured me and presented me with multiple options. He took the time to explain things to my mother and really demonstrated his experience. In this short consultation, I came away feeling heard, valued and with some realistic options on the table. Mr Minas had an MDT meeting with Mr Nisar and explained the risks and options again to me. I decided to go ahead with complete excision and a segmental bowel resection to remove the disease. This was booked in July 2024, for September 2024 and Mr Minas was in constant contact with me both leading up to and post surgery. It was a complex case, taking over 8 hours and then a night in ICU and 5 further days in hospital. However, there were no complications and I am now almost pain free. I feel like a different person and I have Mr Minas to thank for that. I am now even able to take on a new job abroad, which I never could have done before. I have much more energy and have begun losing weight, something that was very difficult for me previously. Mr Minas is a consummate professional who has the ability to empathise with his patients and understand their fears and concerns. I would recommend him highly to anyone in the UK, or abroad who is looking for a skilled surgeon. I would not hesitate to contact him in future if I develop further symptoms. Thank you Mr Minas, for giving me my life back!

I'm so glad that Mr Minas was my consultant. He took the time to respond to my initial enquiry immediately and in person, and has been so thorough in the investigation and diagnosis of my tests. Nothing has been too much trouble. Luckily I don't need an operation but should I have needed one, I know that I would have been in the very best hands. Thank you so much. I would highly recommend this excellent and empathetic specialist.

Since the age of 13/14yrs old I had always suffered terribly with period pains. Eventually I was put on a pill where you take back to back and therefore did not have period and I found this really helped me. Fast Forward until I was 32years old and just married and wanted to start a family. I came off the pill and the periods came back with a vengeance! I also started to discover pain on my left side which felt like a constant stitch! My GP sent me off to have an ultrasound and some bloods. The ultrasound came back with a lump on my left ovary and bloods levels were high and at first, they wasn’t too sure if it was ovarian cancer. I was referred to Mr Minas at St Peters under the CEMIG and he requested an MRI and said to me that it wasn’t cancer but was in fact Endometriosis stage IV and also suspected Adenomyosis, he recommended total Hysterectomy. I explained that I wanted to try for a baby, and he listened to me and explained all the possibly options that I could do. He also referred me to Fertility clinic where I had tests done and found out that my FSH levels were low, and I had premature Ovarian aging. I was still under Mr Minas, and I had another appointment to give him my decision on what I wanted to do next as I was still suffering terribly with period pains. I explained that I wanted to go ahead with the Hysterectomy, he made sure that this was something that I wanted to do and advised that this would be the best thing for me. Whilst I was waiting for my operation date, I still had appointments with Mr Minas as I had questions, and he was brilliant he allowed me to have appointments with him to discuss the questions I had. This all happened during and after covid and as I am hard of hearing and lip read, he was brilliant with me and allowed me to have Face to Face appointments with him so that I could understand what was going on and what they had planned for surgery. I had my surgery on 25th July 2023 – where it was confirmed that I did have Endometriosis stage IV and that I also had Adenomyosis along with chocolate cysts on both ovaries and pretty much everything was stuck together which the called ‘Frozen Pelvis’. But it is by far the best thing that has ever happened to me even thought I am now in menopause there is nothing I wouldn’t change about the Hysterectomy. It is amazing how great I feel now and made me realise how I had just got used to living with pain. I had my procedure done at Ashford hospital where the nurses were very caring and kind and nothing was too much for them. Even before my procedure I had a little wobble and wasn’t sure if this was the right thing to do and after speaking with Mr Minas (who didn’t put any pressure on me) just reminded me of how much I was suffering and for how long and that he can make the pain go away. I really felt cared for and that I was the only patient in the world and even with my wobble he understood and cared. I honestly cannot recommend this amazing consultant enough. He truly has changed my life for the better and I am forever grateful for him. Kirsteen Collins

Duribg my first appointment Mr Minas listened to my symptoms and reviewed the evidence I presented. He carried out diagnostic testing which enabled a discussion about treatment options and planning of next steps. The agreed procedure was carried out within 3 weeks. On the day Mr Minas saw me before the operation to confirm what he was planning to do and afterwards to tell me what happened. I received his post op report before I left the hospital 2 hours later. During the follow-up appointment Mr Minas again listened to me and, through discussion, we decided on a post sign off plan. Overall he was friendly, professional, efficient and reassuring: he did what he said he was going to and when he said he would do it.

I booked my first appointment with Mr Minas based on his qualifications, experience, and patient reviews, and I can say with certainty that Mr Minas is an extremely professional and knowledgeable doctor. The most important part was that Mr Minas not only actually attended to my symptoms but also listened to my story and my concerns and kindly explained each point and answered all my questions. He gave me clear guidane on all treatment options, their pros and cons and allowed me to choose the best option for me. He was always quick to respond to my messages and always happy to answer any additional questions I had. It took me some time to make a decision to have the subtotal laparoscopic hysterectomy and as it was one of the hardest decision in my life I am extremely grateful for his support, understanding and patience before the surgery. He is a very trustworthy person and he is excellent in his expertise. Being his patient, I had the impression that we were a team and we were working together for the betterment of my health. His talent and caring manner is a credit to the medical profession, and having such a skilful doctor was the best part of this entire process. Thank you once again for taking care of me!

Mr Minas was amazing, I wish I had found him a couple of years ago when I first had to see a gynaecology consultant. I had loads of questions and he answered them all, even if it took a little extra time, he was always super kind, patient, and reassuring. I was fully informed on every aspect of the surgery I needed, upsides and downsides, which helped allay my concerns. The surgery went according to plan (including extremely neat & minimal scars), and Mr Minas followed up afterwards to ensure everything was okay. I am very grateful for his efforts and very much recommend him as a consultant and surgeon.

He made sure my husband and I understood the situation and all our options and explained everything in detail. He was respectful of our wishes and made sure he understood our priorities. It's important for me to leave a heartfelt review to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional level of care and support Mr Minas and his team provided during my recent surgery for endometriosis. Words can't adequately convey the immense appreciation I feel for his remarkable skills as a surgeon! Three months after having a 10-hour surgery, I feel fantastic! I'm almost completely pain-free, I have my energy back, I started going to pilates 6-weeks post op, and now I'm back to swimming too; I can go on long walks with my dog, and I can get through each day without dozens of painkillers, heat pads, TENS machine, etc. Mr Minas has given me my life back. I've just returned from my follow-up consultation with Mr Minas and he showed me so much genuine kindness and compassion. He took the time to listen to any questions or concerns I had, and he truly cared about how my recovery was. His dedication to ensuring the best possible outcome for me was evident. Throughout this process, I've felt incredibly fortunate to be under the care of such a skilled consultant, and even luckier to get this level of care on the NHS. I highly recommend Mr Minas, he's a true expert/magician in endometriosis!
