It has now been roughly 6 months since my surgery with Mr Minas (and bowel specialist Mr Nisar) and I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and endorse both surgeons. My Endometriosis diagnosis, as is typical, took over 25 years and I was finally diagnosed in 2021. My anatomy was now so badly distorted, the Endometriosis could be seen on both transvaginal US scans and an MRI. I found Mr Minas in early 2024. I booked to see him very easily online and despite a 2 hour train journey from where I live, I am so very grateful I did! From the moment I walked into his office, Mr Minas was the epitome of the caring, knowledgeable professional I had been missing all these years. My medical anxiety completely disappeared, as he reassured me and presented me with multiple options. He took the time to explain things to my mother and really demonstrated his experience. In this short consultation, I came away feeling heard, valued and with some realistic options on the table. Mr Minas had an MDT meeting with Mr Nisar and explained the risks and options again to me. I decided to go ahead with complete excision and a segmental bowel resection to remove the disease. This was booked in July 2024, for September 2024 and Mr Minas was in constant contact with me both leading up to and post surgery. It was a complex case, taking over 8 hours and then a night in ICU and 5 further days in hospital. However, there were no complications and I am now almost pain free. I feel like a different person and I have Mr Minas to thank for that. I am now even able to take on a new job abroad, which I never could have done before. I have much more energy and have begun losing weight, something that was very difficult for me previously. Mr Minas is a consummate professional who has the ability to empathise with his patients and understand their fears and concerns. I would recommend him highly to anyone in the UK, or abroad who is looking for a skilled surgeon. I would not hesitate to contact him in future if I develop further symptoms.
