Dr Patel looked after our 8 day old son after he was referred to the Paediatric Assessment Unit by our GP, with vomiting and potential breathing issues. Our elder child showed similar symptoms before SVT was diagnosed.
Dr Patel listened to our concerns and undertook a thorough examination of our baby. He was quick and confident in his reassurances that he didn't believe this to be SVT and explained the reasons for some of the tests he asked to be undertaken.
Once the test results were available he clearly explained to me what he believed was wrong with our son, and then patiently repeated this for my husband when he arrived.
We were very much reassured by Dr Patel throughout the visit to hospital and grateful for his knowledge and open manner.

Dr Patel looked after my son as an emergency after a fall at school. He was gentle, caring and very attentive. He listened to my son carefully, showed him compassion and explained with great patience his observation and recommendation, in a manner that was understandable to my 12 year old. At the end of it all my son said "he is the only doctor that understands my body"! Clearly, my son and I couldn't recommend him highly enough.

Everything a childrens A & E should be, efficient, clean, friendly and caring.
Dr Patel listened and questioned in a manner appropriate to the age of the child, explained fully his diagnosis and reasoning behind it and made my son feel totally at ease.
A Doctor and hospital which the NHS should be proud of.

Dr Umang Patel listened to our son's symptons and was quick to diagnose and treat his respiratory tract infection. He also provided my wife and I with reassurance and the information we needed to be able to handle his condition once back at home. We were delighted to have had been looked after by him.
