In September and October of last year I had cataract surgery carried out by Mr Patel at Tees Nuffield hospital. I was very impressed with the pre-op examinations and consultations which Mr Patel carried out with great care and expertise. I found the experience very reassuring. The surgery on each occasion went extremely well and was much less traumatic than I expected. The results were much better than I could have anticipated, less than 24 hrs later my eyesight was well in excess of the driving standard and colours were much more vivid. I had no after effects and no issues with healing. Three months later and I am still delighted with the results which are a tribute to the skill and care provided by Mr Patel. I have no hesitation at all in recommending him to you.

After more than 40 years of wearing contact lenses (I'm extremely short-sighted) my right eye would no longer tolerate an RGP lens and an extremely irregular form of keratoconus meant that a spectacle prescription was no help to my vision. Mr Patel discussed the issues with me with absolute clarity and at great length. His proposed solution was lens extraction and the insertion of a new lens implant. The procedure was quick and painless and most effective. It's now nearly three weeks since surgery and I'm still astonished to be able to look out of the bedroom window in the morning and realise that I can see to the bottom of the garden completely unaided! I cannot recommend Mr Patel highly enough for his personal engagement, his care and his great skill. I am most thankful!

I was not thrilled to find out that I had cataracts but as soon as I met Mr Patel I felt at ease. He was so easy to talk to and he explained the procedure in terms that made me feel comfortable about the surgery, The bonus being I could have multi-focal lenses which would mean no wearing of glasses......yay! I had the surgery over a two week period and Mr Patel explained what was happening every step of the way and his team were exceptional. I would whole heartedly recommend Mr Patel. As another reviewer has said 5 stars isn't enough! Thank you so much for your great care!

I first learned that I required cataract removal and cornea transplants to both eyes on the day I first met Mr Trushar Patel. During the course of our first meetings Mr Patel calmed my concerns using models and diagrams that explained the various procedures that I would undergo. I was very nervous about my cataract procedure however from my first meeting with Mr Patel I felt completely at ease.Every detail was explained carefully in a kind and understanding way.From the first consultation to the completion of my operations everything went exactly as planned in a very professional manner.All procedures were followed up personally by telephone.
