I underwent cataract surgery in both eyes under Mr Patel, his professionalism and understanding were without question. Prior to my operations he explained the procedure fully and on both days of the operations he was very understanding and talked me through the operation fully which I found to be of a great help to myself. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Mr Patel to any future patient. In closing I would like to personally thank him for the manner in which my eye procedures were carried out on both occasions.

I have visited Mr.Patel for a few years now after finding I had Fuchs epithelial and cataracts developing in both my eyes . He is extremely patient explaining my condition and solutions to the problem, he explained the procedure and I underwent my first operation in June 019, and it was a wonderful success. At the time is was quite soon after my husband sadly died, Mr. Patel was very considerate of my emotions and I received excellent care from him and his team, and the nurses. Last year I underwent a cataract surgery and received the same amazing treatment. I feel lucky and honoured to have a surgeon like him at JCUH, Middlesbrough.

I was due to have both cataracts done in March 2020 but due to minor ops been cancelled due to COVID I only had the cataract in my right eye operated on. The operation on my left eye was carried out in July and due to the time lapse and the fact that I had no issues Mr Patel suggested mono vision. It’s marvellous that I no longer have to wear glasses or lenses.

In November and December 2020 I had cataract surgery performed by Mr Patell. I found the whole experience amazing from my first consultation to my discharge appointment. Mr Patell explained the procedure, answered all my questions and has the patience of a saint. I have worn contact lenses for 45 years and I was extremely short sighted. I now have mono vision and do not need glasses or lenses. It has been a life changing experience for me thanks to the expertise of this consultant I can now see when I wake up. He is very professional, easy to talk to, highly respected by his team and I would wholeheartedly recommend this gentleman to anyone wishing to have cataract surgery.
