I have had cataract surgery performed by Mr Patel on one eye and am planning to have similar surgery on the other. The result is little short of astounding, the quality of sight with that eye has not been this sharp and clear for at least 25 years. I am sure that this is due to the quality of care that he takes with the work. He is also very supportive and informative during the consultations both before and after the surgery. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone needing eye treatment.

I had a partial thickness corneal graft that went really well. My initial reservations, my questions and need for reassurances were all met with patience, understanding and expert knowledge. The surgery was done in a day, I was well within three weeks and had increased vision within months. I could not have asked for more from both Mr Patel and the NHS.

Mr Patel is always very welcoming and immediately puts his patient at ease. He is gentley and cleary spoken and takes great care to discuss all concerns and explain the problem anatomically and pathologically. He gives clear advice of the options of management available enabling informed decision making. He is very happy to answer email queries and concerns, and to send out information of choices of lenses available and their details which enables discussion with family members further aiding decision making, I found this to be particularly helpful. The experience of cataract surgery was made very comfortable by Mr Patel. He is very quiet and gentle in theatre and gives comforting information during the short procedure. I felt very safe in his capable hands and was very relaxed throughout. My post operative care has been superb. He telephoned me the next morning, gave advice and answered one or two questions. He then saw me for a post operative check up one week later giving a full examination and further advice. The results of my surgery are fay beyond my expectations and my eyesight is now much better than I have had for very many years. I have happily accepted the offer of having my second eye treated also. I am absolutely delighted and would like to say a very big thank you.
