I started treatment Dec 2018 with an eye injury. Treatment led to removal of cataracts in both eyes and a lens implant. I now have near perfect vision having worn spectacles from being a child. My treatment throughout has been exemplary. Mr Patel and his team have been just perfect. He is a wonderful surgeon and made me feel at ease every visit. He is a gentleman and true professional in his field and a credit to James Cook. I would recommend him every time.

After transferring in from another hospital having had my procedure cancelled, I came to Mr Patel at a low ebb. My vision was very poor and most of the things I enjoyed doing were on hold. I was under pressure from work with my job on the line plus other issues that were proving hard to manage. I wrote to Mr Patel putting all my concerns to him. I cannot express how I felt when I was called in at the last moment due sadly to someone else being unable to have their procedure. This really proved to me that Mr Patel takes great interest in his patients and listens carefully to their concerns. My operation went amazingly well due to the skill and care of Mr Patel and his team. Within no time my vision improved so much enabling me to see things that I thought I would not see clearly again. It does not seem enough just to say thank-you to Mr Patel, along with my donor and their family who made this all possible, but thank-you all for giving me a second chance to enjoy my life again. I am totally in awe of Mr Patel's skills and I really ask of all who are reading this review, to consider that if you ever find yourself in a time of deep loss and sorrow, donating any organ including corneas can be a truly amazing way to bring about a new hope to someone else's life.

Really helped me through a difficult few months with my vision which was deteriorating for some time before I managed to sit with Mr Trushar Patel. I was grateful to get guidance on the best steps forward with a preliminary proceedure before the main event a month later. As a long standing suffer of several eye conditions my eyes can be espeically difficult to care for and diagnose. Mr Trushar Patel showed real in depth knowledge and enthusiam for his profession. Also, showed additional care with follow ups before and after proceedures and he really has an an indepth knowledge of eye conditions, especially cataract procedures. The end result was very good and I received thorough aftercare and check ups. I am so grateful for the care I received during some very challenging times for me personally and the wider world in mid to late 2021.

I recently had cataracts removed from both eyes, the first as a NHS patient, the second as a private patient. On both occasions I was given excellent care by Mr Patel and his team. Mr Patel explained the procedures and answered my questions in terms I could understand. I am very grateful to Mr Patel for the great improvement in my eyesight. Just had cataracts removed from both eyes. Mr Patel was excellent throughout. He quickly understood my situation, arranged times for appointments that suited me and then provided excellent before and after care. He was approachable and knowledgeable listening to my concerns and providing sufficient detail to put my mind at rest. I would highly recommend Mr Patel if you are considering this type of eye surgery.
