I was admitted to hospital as an emergency with jaundice. From the outset, I felt safe and reassured knowing Mr Doulias was the consultant looking after me. I found him informative, easy to talk to, and he listened and answered any of my concerns and questions. Mr Doulias is obviously and expert in his field and practices with compassion and kindness. His team are quite obviously lead by a man who expects a very high standard of patient care and as a patient under his care, this is very reassuring, especially when feeling unwell and vulnerable. I look forward to seeing him again as an outpatient in the future.

He had an appalling bed side manner. When he did rounds in a ward of 4, 3 were left distressed and in tears. Doesn't listen to patient. I had sepsis and he wanted to send me home. Luckily my surgeon thought otherwise, else who knows if I would even be alive to write this post?!?? So unprofessional, wanders round with a coffee like he's on a social trip. Makes very judgemental personal remarks about name origins and looks.

This doctor is kind and considerate, and I believe he has an excellent grasp of his specialism. He made me feel at ease and talked to me about myself, not just my complaint. He gave me reassuring guidelines about my future treatment, and suggested a way forward that involved a slight adjustment to my medication. Very positive consultation.
