Mr Bateman is a kind and compassionate double fellowship trained spinal surgeon with experience of managing degenerative, traumatic and metastatic disease of the whole spine from occiput to sacrum. Mr Bateman completed a complex spine surgery fellowship offered through the University of Toronto and was appointed a substantive Consultant at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust in 2017. His clinical practice includes the management of degenerative, traumatic and metastatic spinal disease. Mr Bateman has a Diploma in Sports and Exercise medicine and has provided medical support for various events including the Olympics in 2012 and various national and international rowing and motorsport events.
