Firstly, I do not, "identify with....", I am FEMALE. I had a first consultation with Dr Yates yesterday. He was what I always hope for in a doctor: calm, caring & knowledgeable. He listened & actually heard what I was saying, looked me in the eye & was able to reassure me, helping me to understand what is happening & to look forward. Many doctors are so rushed & just pick at the computer during a brief consultation, not looking/really seeing the patient as a whole person. I am grateful for the time that Dr Yates spent with me.

Thank you so much for seeing me Dr Yates. I felt you listened and did a thorough review. We have put a plan in place and I believe this will work. You were so reactive I am already going for my MRI next week. Thank you again. Viviane

I have always found Tim to be very compassionate. He always listens to everything I say and is willing to help wherever he can. He is absolutely marvellous and I can not see that there needs to be any improvement in his ability as a neurologist or with his patient care

I've suffered from migraines for most of my life and really struggled to be heard and to feel like my pain was being taken seriously. I've had doctors dismiss me as 'just a headache', over-prescribe me medications that were counter-productive, treat me like I was asking for too much, and even yell at me. Dr Yates has always been kind, considerate, and diligent in his approach to my treatment. He took the time to read years of medical history in detail to truly understand my needs, he listened to me and, most importantly, believed that I know my body and my brain - something that is a lot more rare than it should be in healthcare. Dr Yates treated me like a person in pain, not data set or a problem to be solved. He listened to what I wanted, acknowledged the years of research that I had put into my own understanding of my own body, and fought for me to be accepted to a waitlist for the treatment. He also took the time to explain the mechanics of my illness, in as much as they can be known, and to improve my own information in an informative way, without treating me like I don't know anything about the issue I've had for decades - again, way more rare a situation than it should be. It is not an overstatement to say that I felt helpless, alone, and resigned to suffering for the rest of a miserable life before I met Dr Yates. Though I still have a long way to go, I feel hopeful and excited again for the possibilities of what my life can be - regardless of what happens with this next set of treatments, that is a gift that cannot be underestimated. Should anyone reading this be given the opportunity to be treated by Dr Yates, take it as soon as you can!
