I met Mr Tim Jones in late March 2021 as I had been diagnosed with Multiple Meningioma Brain Tumours. During the consultation he was very professional, he explained exactly what was in my head, showed me the MRI images, let me ask lots of questions, giving understandable answers and did not rush the appointment at all. He explained that I would need a craniotomy to remove the largest tumour and that he would perform that operation at St. George's. He let me choose the time scale of my treatment, explained the operation and associated risks and possible outcomes and the length of my hospital stay depending on each of those outcomes. I left the consultation with all the information that I wanted, a plan of action and complete confidence in Tim's ability to fix the problem. Five weeks to the day later I woke up in NITU the morning after a 6 hour, extremely successful operation. Tim and his team had removed 100% of the tumour. I had the best possible outcome, I had the operation on the Wednesday and I was home on the Saturday, I made a complete recovery and all my symptoms vanished on removal of the tumour. I met with Tim the morning of the operation and the 2 days following the operation when, again he was happy to tell me what was going on, answer any questions, put my mind at ease and have a light hearted laugh and a joke about things, he is very easy to talk to and a great human being as well as an excellent Neurosurgeon. He rang me the week after the operation at home to see how I was and tell me the pathology results of the tumour, which was 100% benign and the follow up care plans. I genuinely believe that the care I received from Tim, all his neurosurgery team and all the other staff I came into contact with at St George's could not have been improved upon. It was all First Class from start to finish and I can not thank everyone enough for looking after me so well.
