I have recently had a gall bladder operation and am absolutely delighted with my operation, my treatment and my step by step information of what I can expect at each stage during my operation and then also my recovery. I am pleased to say that my scars are quite tiny and non-descript, exactly as Mr Satyadas said they would be, and I am now looking forward to my next stage (as I am almost 4 weeks post op) for the extra energy! I would absolutely recommend Mr Satyadas to anyone and everyone. He is not only Superb in his field of expertise, but is incredibly kind, caring and thoughtful. Thank you very much is not enough but I sincerely mean it :)

I suffered from a severe case of acute pancreastitus and Mr Satyadas saved my life. His level of care is impeccable. He is always calm and concise with every decision that is made to do with my care. No decision is ever made without my health being his main concern. No question or concern is ever too small for him to answer and he is able to constantly reassure my parents and keep them updated on my progress. Anyone under Mr Satyadas’ care will be lucky to have him!

I was originally seen by a colleague of Thomas Satyadas who redirected me to him as she thought I’d be better having my procedure laparoscopically. However, it turned out I needed to have open surgery to repair a large hernia after all. I have in the past been quite bullied by male consultants so was a little apprehensive to be passed on to yet another but was assured that Thomas Satyadas was absolutely not of that nature. After speaking to Thomas I was totally relieved, he completely put me at my ease, not only that he could perform the surgery skilfully but I would be treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. During my initial consultation he explained carefully the procedure and any possible complications that might arise without any hint of patronisation. I am very thankful that it was Thomas Satyadas whom operated on me and I have nothing but respect and gratitude for his expertise and the care and consideration he showed me.

Just over two months ago, Dr Satyadas performed a classic Whipple procedure on me. It went as he had forecast and at all times the care and concern shown by Dr Satyadas and all the team at Manchester Royal, including the follow-up, was wonderful. My recovery was set back for two/three weeks due to an infection picked up after I was discharged but now, with the additional close support of my wife and sons, I feel on the way to a full recovery, even during some chemotherapy treatment recently started as a standard precaution after the operation. I know that I will have up and down days but my 83rd birthday is next month and I already feel back to my former fairly active self. The only suggestion I can offer is that the admin systems within the NHS could be better.

Thomas and his staff were totally professional and re assuring with me both before and after my operation. His excellent reputation is thoroughly justified. His back up staff are excellent even when dealing with huge pressure in his clinic due to high patient numbers. Alison Maugham has endless patience and was a huge help during a very concerning time. I cant thank them enough.
