Age related prostate enlargement and its associated problems had, after several years of ever more constrained everyday living, reached the point where the NHS decided to offer me a TURP procedure, the medicated route no longer effective in any way. Naturally I'd much rather choose not to have avoidable, discretionary surgery, especially so, well, sensitively placed. Still, I plucked up from somewhere the necessary courage. However, it seemed to me there could be better alternatives than a TURP. By great good fortune I was recommended to Mr Tev Aho for a second look at matters. The result was the HOLEP procedure. From start to finish I couldn't imagine a more considerate and personable approach, by such an immensely skilled surgeon. Immediate recovery was a bit uncomfortable but short lived. Three months on, and I am still getting used to the wonderful novelty of waterworks that perform just as I remember from at least thirty years ago. Quite remarkable. All I can say to anyone having to accommodate the limitations imposed by frequency, urgency and broken nights is to seriously consider a consultation with Mr Aho. I recommend his care without hesitation.
