I was an NHS patient presenting with nose-breathing difficulties. There was a single examination, which was brief, under a minute, before mister mugliston agreed to operate.
The negative consequences have been substantial; my ability to breathe through my nose has been irreparably impaired.
The after care was faultless. However, my capacity to judge if this was a good decision was massively impeded by my mental well-being at the time.
While it was not Mr Mugliston’s responsibility to manage my emotional state, as an informed, and no doubt skilful practitioner, I wish more signs had been picked up that I was not in a condition to make a clearly informed choice about the surgery.
A really disastrous decision that has cost me lot and caused me tremendous mental anguish.
I was operated 4 weeks ago for polyps, very happy with my operation and the aftercare.
Dr Mugliston operated on my nose because I had breathing problems. The operation was a success and the postoperative period was completely pain-free. A few months later I had to undergo surgery to have my tonsils removed and once again the operation was a success. Not only Dr Mugliston is a great professional but also a caring doctor. I felt extremely well cared for and I would highly recommend him.
He did what it said on the tin. He fixed my nose. I can now taste and smell once more.
Mr Mugliston is an experienced and skilful ENT specialist. I require regular treatment for an ear conditon and he is always patient and thorough. He understands my frustration that there is as yet no 'cure' for my condition but he is firmly resisting any surgical intervention until there is clear evidence that this would improve things for me.
