From my first consultation concerning my need for hip replacement until i left the Spire Hospital after my procedure i was treated with kindness beyond expectation.Everyone from reception ,nurses and Mr T.Tarique Parwez who performed my hip replacement were brilliant.I went into The Spire Hospital Harpenden on July 7th 2022 and had surgery in the afternoon.Until my discharge on july 9th 2022 Mr Parwez and the nursing staff kept me informed how my progress was going to be.Four weeks after i left hospital i was able to walk 1 and a half mile.I was 76 years old at that time .I walked a little further every day and eventually was able to walk 12 and a half mile on one occasion. Now weather permitting i walk between 5 and 10 miles a day. Before my hip replacement i struggled to even walk upstairs. If i ever need my other hip or knees replaced i would feel blessed if Mr Tarique Parwez was the surgeon and at The Spire Hospital Harpenden. Thanks to everyone at The Spire. If you need hip or knee replacement i would say do not worry as The Spire and Mr Tatique Parwez will treat you the best.

At my first meeting, I found Mr Parwez to courteous, kind and a good listener. His experience told him straight away that I needed a total hip replacement from the wince I gave out when be came to greet me in the waiting room. Half an hour later, X-rays confirmed this. At the time I wasn't in a position to elect for surgery, Mr Parwez suggested that I had an Ultrasound guided steroid injection which gave me instant relief and got me through the next few months pain free. When I was ready for surgery, a date was quickly agreed and I was admitted to the Spire Hospital in Harpenden. Everything went as planned. Mr Parwez came to see me before the operation and I saw him later in the recovery suite where he told me everything had gone to plan. He also came to see me the following evening to see how I was and to show me the post op X-ray showing the implant in a perfect position. I'm now seven weeks post surgery and after a very successful procedure and following the prescribed exercises, I'm totally pain free and very mobile. I would thoroughly recommend Mr Parwez for this procedure, he has abundant experience and a very caring nature.
