I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to Mr Mahmud for truly changing my life after surgery. Going into surgery is one of the most frightening and vulnerable experiences a person can face, and all you can hope for is to be cared for by someone who genuinely understands and cares about what you’re going through. From the very beginning, Mr Mahmud showed nothing but compassion, reassurance, and exceptional professionalism. He went far beyond anything I could ever have expected. Knowing you are in safe hands makes all the difference, and that feeling was constantly reinforced by the respect and admiration hospital staff have for him — every word spoken about him was filled with praise. I will always be thankful for the care he gave me and the difference he has made to my life. Thank you.

Had the privilege of having a TKR carried out by Mr Mahmud on the 27th May 2021 at The Alexandra after years of pain and latterly failed cortisone injections following an active sporting lifestyle for many years in a variety of activities. Results amazing from my perspective, but probably not from Mr Mahmud. I am 68 years of age and playing golf is my current passion and to be able to play after 6 weeks after surgery in a buggy and walk the full course a week later which I have done several times is beyond expectations. To conclude Mr Mahmud is a highly recommended and specialist Consultant

Explained procedure concisely. Always polite and regularly on time. Wouldn't have minded seeing him same day after undergoing procedure, however, this may not be protocol nor a good use of professional time.

I suffered from knee pain following a sports injury on my left knee. I was diagnosed as having a meniscus tear. I was given the treatment options of conservative management and physiotherapy and also the option of a meniscus trim via arthroscopic surgery. The pros and cons were discussed and I had time to think of the different options. Great communication with his team and the hospital. Mr Mahmud explained options and I chose a keyhole arthroscopic operation to trim and remove the tear. I experienced a very professional and well organised service throughout - from the diagnostics, physiotherapy and after care. Great result after 6 months ! - I am now pain free, back to running and cycling and felt as if the knee was stronger than before ! I would definitely recommend 100 %

I suffered from knee pain which varied in its frequency and intensity, often it would make my hiking and golf almost impossible and completely stopped me from jogging. Mr Mahmud was reassuring and confident when we met and explained clearly that a meniscus tear was highly likely. An MRI scan the next week confirmed this. Mr Mahmud explained options and I chose a keyhole arthroscopic operation to trim and remove the tear. I experienced a very professional and well organised service throughout - even accounting for the additional covid19 processes. Great result! - I am now virtually pain free 6 weeks after a quick and neat procedure and back hiking and golfing (steady 9-holes at the moment).

After a thorough examination and consultation when my queries were clearly answered, Mr Mahmud suggested I consider a partial knee replacement. The procedure was completed in Feb 2020 and met my target dates for 18 holes of golf and 8 mile walks. Mr Mahmud has, at all times, been professional and pleasant and I highly recommend him. If/when I need any help with knees/hips, I know exactly who I will arrange to see !

I just want to say thank you Mr Mahmud for your expertise, skill and patience. 2 years ago this summer you carried out surgery on both my knees at the same time - bilateral uni-compartmental knee replacements. This was life changing - now instead of pain every time I move and being unable to walk unaided I am now free of pain and regularly walk 3-4 miles unaided, without issue. If anyone could see my tidy scars now they would not know what all the fuss was about. I say thank you Mr Mahmud but in truth I cannot thank you enough. Jonathan Hopkins

I had been in agony for many months with osteoarthritis in both knees, prior to seeing Mr Mahmud. I was unable to walk unaided and my life was on hold. Mr Mahmud was very patient and helpful - he explained to me the options available and discussed them with his colleagues also so as to arrive at the best mutually agreed course of action. It was decided bilateral Uni-compartmental knee replacements was the best option - so partial replacement of both knees at the same time. The surgery was a complete success and extremely tidy. After several weeks following the surgery I no longer had need of crutches or even a walking stick. I write this almost 2 years on and I have had no need of a walking stick since and no pain whilst walking - my life has changed so much for the better. I now regularly walk 3-4 miles without issue. My experience throughout with Mr Mahmud and the Orthopaedic team has been excellent and I cannot thank them enough. From Mr Mahmud himself through the excellent ward and it's staff where I was based to the comprehensive physiotherapy support during and following my brief stay in hospital for the operation. Thank you, Jonathan Hopkins.

I wanted to say Thank you very much to Mr Mahmud. My appreciation is shown, I hope, in the review that I have recently sent after having two very successful hip replacements. But I wasn't sure that my reviews were received as I wasn't sure I had sent the email correctly. I am quite happy to write the reviews again if that is so, as I would like to make sure it is recognised how pleased I am with the results of my two operations.
