My Dad had a brain tumor removed 4 days ago and his care from Mr surash and the nurses on HDU has been outstanding. Keep up the fantastic work you do, you are all greatly appreciated from removing brain tumors to finding a TV for my Dad to watch! Thank you so much

Mr Surash is a great guy who spent a huge amount of time with me and my wife. His surgical skills and bedside manner was great. And the team of specialist nurses and ward nurses were all excellent - cannot thank them enough!

Already written a review but it seems not to have been published! My husband was diagnosed with a brain tumour in March 2020 and died in April 2020 after being offered only a biopsy after a rushed 5 minute appointment with Mr Surash. No treatment or palliative treatment to help him live a little longer was offered despite one day being told these were available and the next day - nothing - that they were sending him home to die! When I needed some advice on a Friday afternoon when my husband’s condition deteriorated, neither Mr Surash nor his secretary were available and out of the four cancer nurse specialists at the RVI, 3 of them were on sick leave and the fourth was in an online meeting and “would probably contact me on Monday”! My husband received very little care besides the biopsy and nil support. He was very distressed after the biopsy. I wasn’t allowed to go and see him and he called me in a state and I had to ring the ward to get someone to go and help him as nobody was paying any attention to his needs. He was denied any help at all to enable him to live a little bit longer in order to see his friends or family who couldn’t travel because of lock down. I feel my husband’s treatment was diabolical and his care was well below even the minimum you would expect. Yes, he was diagnosed at a time when Covid-19 was rearing its head but at the time there were only 19 confirmed cases in Tyne and Wear so there was no reason for him to die within 5 weeks of diagnosis. I will never trust the RVI again!
