Mr Naylor complete two separate catarct operations for me in 2023.
Both resulted in perfect long vision and were both painless very
professionaly carried out.
I would highly recommend Mr Naylor to anyone who needed a catarct
treatment. Excellent, caring, good listening and very pateint to explain
what the treatment would be and what to expect at the time and later

Last month I had bilateral cataract surgery performed at Nuffield York Hospital by Mr Steven Naylor. At the consultation he explained what the procedure would involve, and told me what lenses he recommended. He put me completely at ease and was very easy to speak to. The operation went extremely well and I am very happy with the outcome. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to him if ever I needed anything else doing with my eyes, and I would highly recommend him to anyone requiring eye surgery. A big thank you to you Mr Naylor and thanks very much for restoring my sight, I am very grateful and wish I had taken the plunge many years ago.

Mr Naylor is totally approachable and really easy to talk to. He was excellent in terms of keeping me relaxed and comfortable during both cataract removal procedures.

After having my first cataract surgery with Mr Naylor back in February, which was a huge success I have just 3 weeks ago had my left eye done, again massive success, all I can say is a huge Thank you to Mr Naylor you have completely given me my life back, thank you so much

My optician highly recommended Mr Naylor, after being diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes, he was so caring, explained everything and made me feel at ease as I was very nervous about the surgery, I have had amazing results after having first eye done and now booked again for other one with him next month, I would highly recommend Mr N Naylor and thank you again

Born and raised in Hull, I was proud to graduate with honours from Leeds Medical School in 2008 as one of the top performing medical students of my year. I completed my ophthalmology training in Yorkshire where I was amongst the first of my trainee cohort to achieve the coveted CertLRS for refractive surgery, a testament to my ambition and determination to strive to be the best. To further my expertise I undertook a year of advanced sub-specialty training in cornea and refractive surgery at St James's University Teaching Hospital, one of Europe's largest teaching hospitals. My training has afforded me a wealth and depth of experience in precision eye care, and an uncompromising attitude towards the delivery of an outstanding patient experience. I always put my patients first.
I am the NHS consultant lead for cataract surgery at York Teaching Hospital. I also co-run the emergency eye care service. I regularly teach medical students and surgical trainees, I am a trainer on the microsurgical skills course run by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and I am the college tutor for York trainee ophthalmologists.
I specialise in complex cataract surgery and intraocular lens work. I have performed over 4000 cataract operations with visual outcomes surpassing the national standards cited by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. My experience in emergency eye care means I am very skilled in dealing with a wide range of eye problems. Now residing in York my hard work, integrity and professionalism have enabled me to establish a successful private practice working at both the Nuffield Hospital in York and the Spire Hospital in Hull.
I consider myself very fortunate to call the beautiful county of Yorkshire my home and in my spare time regularly enjoy country walks and bike rides with my wife, children and dog.
