I had cause to seek remote clinical support on two occasions on the 21st May 2019. The first was in relation to a trauma patient with upper limb injuries who required ketamine for analgesia. The second was a post-ROSC STEMI patient who required some sedation to manage agitation. On both occasions, the doctor in question listened to the situation and allowed me to describe my proposed management plan. On the first occasion, there were no alterations to my plan. On the second occasion, I was given further advice and authority to exceed the dose specified in my PGD if required. This ultimately was not required. Happy with the style of the call and the advice received.

I am a Clinical Supervisor with the Yorkshire ambulance service, working closely at times at incident scenes with Dr Dykes. Dr Dykes approached the incident with his usual, calm, collective and positive nature. Steven took the time to receive a clinical picture from the attending ambulance crew and myself. He allowed me to continue treating the patient up to my scope of practice and then without taking over offered a few other suggestions. Dr Dykes brought the team together after an assessment of the patient and her condition. Steven involved the whole team in making a medical plan, listening to suggestions and communicating clearly his thoughts from a doctors perspective. Dr Dykes then allowed the whole team to continue to provide the care for the patient under his guidance and supervision. Steven's guidance was clear, precise and medically justified. There are no areas of improvement I can suggest from this interaction or any other I have had with Dr Dykes.
