Having already had one hip replacement on the other hip 4 years previously (different hospital, different surgeon), I was reluctant to seek help with the other side. My first operation went fine, but my recovery was longer and to be fair still troubles me from time to time. I have osteoarthritis, but persevered until walking became too difficult and was needing to rely on my walking stick. Mr Tai listened to my concerns, about how nervous I was and went at my pace. I eventually had the other hip replaced at Pinehill back in March 2023 and all went smoothly. Was up and about next day and whilst a bit stiff, everything went swimmingly this time round. Was walking unaided, no sticks within a couple of weeks. It was so wonderful to get back to enjoying walking again without pain, if only I had done this sooner! Would thoroughly recommend Mr Tai. Parking on the other hand….rather testing to find a space when trying to attend follow up physio sessions, then when parked trying to get out of the car was a whole new challenge with the limited narrow parking bays.

I had my hip replaced 7 weeks ago. After the operation Mr Tai told me everything had gone smoothly and I would be able to go home the following day. The nurses and physiotherapists were excellent and I felt confident with the care I received. Apart from a little stiffness I had very little discomfort and was able to start walking the day of the operation.I felt able to go home the following day and although I did not see Mr Tai that day, the nurses told me he had rung to check on my progress and was happy with the post operative Xray taken that morning. Subsequently my recovery has been straightforward and I was able to dispense with crutches completely within 5 weeks. I am able to walk several kilometres and have returned to swimming without any difficulty. I anticipate returning to all my usual activities over the next few weeks and am looking forward to playing tennis again.

All went according to plan; Mr Tai took pains to understand my post-op objectives and delivered what felt like a personalised experience. I particularly appreciated Mr Tai's no-frills approach without any impenetrable jargon or blah-blah. Always ready to answer in full all of my questions, I would undoubtedly use Mr Tai again.
