Mr Hutchings explained the process effectively & efficiently. He was thorough in his initial assessment of my condition, based on my answers to his careful, considered questions. He did not rush me or give me the impression that he needed to hurry me. I felt valued, respected & listened to. Clearly Mr Hutchings has a wide breadth of expertise in his specialist area. His step by step approach to understanding my symptoms &/or causes / possible outcomes helped me to speak with him openly & freely. I was admitted for a total right hip replacement I am 56 years of age. Mr Hutchings listened to me at my initial consultation and asked what outcome I wanted. He explained what the proceedure entailed, how long I would be in hospital, how long to get back to something like normal and what the long term prognosis was. He visited me in hospital the morning prior to surgery, the afternoon post surgery and the day after surgery, explaining things and answering any concerns/ questions. I followed all advice given by Mr Hutchings, hospital staff and physios. The worst parts being the evening after surgery as the spinal block wore off, the first time I put weight on my operated leg and having to sleep on my back(!) until discharged from Mr Hutchings care. I returned to clinic 5 weeks and 2 days post surgery had a consultation where I asked any questions, I was walking without aids and felt really well as I was also reducing my medication and was pain free for the first time in 6 years. I was discharged and told to continue excercise to build the muscles up around the joint. I would have absolutely no hesitation or reservations in recommending Mr Hutchings and the proceedure to anyone who needed it. Thank you once again not just from me but from my family, as I am less grumpy and more able to interact with my grandchildren which were the outcomes, along with being medication free, that I stated at the initial consultation.
