I had a large inguinal hernia repaired by Sam Dutta under general anesthetic at the Park Hospital. Prior to the operation Sam had fully discussed the treatment I would require and following the operation I had no pain, swelling or bruising and was soon back walking my dogs which had been an issue prior to the operation. On January 3rd 2025 I had inguinal hernia surgery at the Park Hospital carried out by Sam Dutta. As someone in their late 80’s I was a little apprehensive beforehand. The operation was carried out under a local anaesthetic and very successfully performed. The whole experience was virtually painless and last week I was fully signed off by Sam. Sam repaired an inguinal hernia for me, under a general anesthetic, using keyhole surgery, at the Park Hospital in Nottingham. From start to finish the whole process was efficient and quick. I was fully informed, treated as an equal participant in the process, and allowed, indeed encouraged, to ask questions throughout, so I could understand and agree the treatment option(s) available to me. The surgery was completely effective and, best of all, the process from surgery to recovery has been pain free. I would recommend both Sam and the Park Hospital if considering private surgery.

I was a private patient referred to Dr Dutta by my private health company for a left side Iguinal Hernia (large). This was to be carried out at Ramsay Health Care's Woodthorpe Hospital in Nottingham, the week before Christmas The surgery was carried out successfully and I can't praise Dr Dutta and the care team at Woodthorpe hospital enough. I am sure that the skillful delivery of the Laparoscopic surgery together with the post operative care advice contributed to a comfortable and rapid recovery.

Sam is approachable and friendly, he explained all the options and I felt most confident in proceeding with the surgery. I received excellent care from Sam and all the team at The Park Hospital. The end result has been great and I have no hesitation in recommending Sam.

Can not thank sam and his team enough,went in hospital tuesday as a living donor to donate my kidney to my daughter,both operations went perfect 3 days later i am back at home and daughter will be out soon,very caring and considerate and again many thanks sam for giving my daughter a chance of a better life can not thank you enough. On the 7th March 2024 Mr Smarajit ( Sam ) Dutta performed an open mesh repair of right inguinal hernia under General Anasthetic. I have been very pleased with the outcome and the care and attention he took not only with me but also putting my wife's concerns to rest . The Anaesthetist was excellent and gave me complete confidence as i do have atrial fibrulation .
