I was naturally very concerned attending my appointment as I had several lumps in my breast. The whole process was very positive and I felt very well looked after and made to relax and not worry. I had ultrasound where cysts were identified and drained on the spot. Farid Ahmed spoke to me after the procedure and explained everything and listened to my concerns. He gave me reassurance and suggested if I was concerned in any way in the future to make an appointment with my doctor or directly with the hospital. I realise my outcome was positive which lifted my mood, but I felt everyone that I came into contact on the day was very understanding and had the time and patience to overcome the obvious stress that I was feeling.

I can not fault the service I received today from DR Ahmed. I was one of the lucky ones to be given good news today. Everything was explained to me clearly and all my questions answered. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Thank you to Dr Ahmed and all the team at Wycombe general.

Mr Ahmed gave me bad news on two separate occasions; 1) I had cancer 2) I needed a mastectomy. He put me at ease whilst explaining my situation and the treatment i.e. surgery, chemo, radio therapy, reconstruction. He gave me time the time of day, the room to think and ask questions. He always answered my questions fully. He was polite, professional and caring. I felt safe and re-assured. I was able to reflect, talk and even laugh at the situation. He was the only consistent medical voice throughout my long journey. If I were to go through this again I would choose him as the surgeon and messenger of bad news. I rate him far above his colleagues.

The first time I met Mr Ahmed was the morning of my surgery. He was reassuring, friendly, patient and approachable. He understood the balance between ensuring all the necessary cells were removed against the emotional and psychological issues of having breast surgery. Follow up care was also excellent. The staff at the Breast Unit were also wonderful. I had to have some pretty invasive procedures in the weeks leading up to the surgery and everyone I came into contact with demonstrated total professionalism and care.

Mr Ahmed welcomed myself and my wife with a firm handshake and introduced himself in such a courteous way that we both felt at ease with him. He explained very clearly what the results of the blood and ultra sound meant in a manner that made it easy for us to ask questions. I felt very lucky to have had Mr Ahmed on my case.
