I saw Mr Farid Ahmed for my yearly breast check up after a mastectomy last year. I have chosen to follow a natural healing journey rather than continuing with chemotherapy as I personally didn't deem the statistic good enough to put my body through such a treatment. Although Mr Farid Ahmed didn't necessarily agree with my decision (of which I didn't expect him too) he did respected my decision (my body my choice) and was very kind to me which was very much appreciated as up to now I have been treated with disgust and contempt by the medical profession including my GP and my oncologist so it made a pleasant change to be treated as a human rather than a statistic and has restored a bit of faith of which I thank him for.
I was so happy to find I was clear of the breast cancer I had. Mr Ahmed was amazing he carefully explained everything that would happen to me prior to my op and was there again on the day to make sure I understood the procedure I would undergo. He answered all my questions and made me feel I was in very competent hands. He listened to all my fears and did his best to help me through.
You feel terribly vulnerable in hospital and it’s so helpful to have a consultant who takes the time to make sure you are aware of everything that will be done to you on the day plus a very supportive team of other professionals.
I would recommend him to any woman who needs breast cancer surgery.
Mr Ahmed was very friendly and put me at ease. He explained about the operation and what further treatment I would require.
Very caring and informative.
Mr Ahmed is professional and reassuring. He has a kind and empathetic manner while explaining the prognosis and carrying out treatment. He also has a gentle sense of humour which lifts an unhappy situation. I am very happy to be in his care and would highly recommend him.
