No one wants to be told they need a mastectomy particularly at a time when the national press is full of shocking reports of a breast surgeon who performed unnecessary operations! Yet Simon delivered my devastating news in such a sensitive way that it was immediately apparent that I was in the best possible hands. His positive “one step at a time” approach and his calm reassurance gave me confidence. From the first consultation, it is evident that he is very accomplished and an expert in his field so I have 100% trust in him. Simon is the ultimate professional with a friendly, approachable and compassionate manner and when appropriate a sense of humour! He gets to know his patients, puts you at ease and takes time to give straight forward thorough explanations of the diagnosis and treatment options. He always listens attentively, addresses concerns and answers questions, however trivial. Most importantly of all he absolutely understands the female mind and knew exactly what was going on in my head when I was petrified and incapable of retaining information! He knows you are worried when you have a consultation for results of tests so tells you immediately enabling you to relax or concentrate on the next step. Teresa, his equally kind and patient nurse is always there to provide additional support.
