My consultation with Mr Simon Smith through The Harley Medical Group was everything I could have asked it to be. Clear, concise, easily digestible and I was fully happy with the decisions we had made for the size and the positioning etc. POST OP STORY I had 300cc dual plane unders! Had my surgery on the morning of 8th March. I’m now 2 days post op. I’m heavily into my fitness and cleaning eating and straight away I think that’s made a huge difference to my journey, I trained 6 times a week and eat 5 times a day and don’t eat refined sugar. My boyfriend and I took the 1.5 hour drive over to The Chelmsford Hospital arriving at 7 am. I made sure I ate right before the 8 hours prior mark and got up early to make sure I hydrated properly before I was nil by mouth. I arrived at the hospital and was looked after beautifully by the nurses. Only happy thoughts as anxiety really doesn’t serve a purpose! Pinterest and music kept me going! The surgeon and anaesthetist came and saw me and talked me through the whole thing and I was given a cheeky Lucozade to keep me going. I think this really helped me too. Again only happy thoughts, push everything else out.... Then I went down to theatre, massive big deep breaths, anaesthetist popped my Cannula in, gave me the drugs and the next thing I know, I have woken up after the op on my way to recovery. I have had GA many times before and luckily recover quickly with no side effects. As I came round so quickly, I had a cup of tea, 2 biscuits and a sandwich whilst still in recovery. Eat your food, it’s fuel, you can’t function without it. Happy with my recovery I went back to the patient lounge at the same time as the girl who had had surgery before me. I had no pain. Deep breaths are key, even though you think it may hurt, shallow panting was more uncomfortable, pushing through and taking deep breaths straight away helps you feel much more normal quicker. The better breathing will help bring you round quicker too! I also found not using your arms and using your core to get up and legs to bend down rather than anything else makes doing stuff much easier too! I had two more cups of tea and 2 more biscuits in the lounge and felt right as rain. Surgeon came to see me and gave me every number, email address he had so that I could get in contact 24:7 should I need to and happy with me they let me go home around an hour and a half sooner than anticipated. 2 hours journey back and we went to the supermarket for some food and then I managed a load of washing.... one bit by one bit. Chilled out for the rest of the day and sleep like a baby in the evening with no pain relief. I can thoroughly recommend Mr Simon Smith!
