I’d like to express my sincerest gratitude for how swiftly and decisively you decided to operate to remove my gallbladder on 19th December at East Surrey. I had no prior warning of anything untoward until the Friday afternoon before the operation, when I suddenly started getting griping pains in my stomach. We came to A and E Sunday morning and very little was done until the next day when you saw me and realised the urgency of my situation. We will always be profoundly grateful that you were on duty on that Monday when we needed you – a surgeon with such skill and astute judgement. Incredible good fortune for us. My family and I will always be grateful for the swift action you took to operate, thus saving my life as the gall bladder was about to rupture. You are a credit to your profession. It’s good to know the NHS can still rely on exceptional doctors and nurses to help save lives. Once again, many thanks for saving my life. Not only did you save my life, you treated both my wife and I with such consideration, taking the time to explain with clarity the urgency of the situation and filling us with confidence that you would keep me safe. Your kindness in taking my wife's phone number and ringing her personally after the operation was remarkably thoughtful of you, given how phenomenally busy you were. A remarkable surgeon. Thank you so much.
