I am a retired operating theatre nurse and have worked with many surgeons around the world. Simon Ellis is an extremely friendly and approachable gentleman and a surgeon who puts his patients at ease. From the day he first saw me his honest and simple explanation made my journey through his care stress free and despite having surgery a very pleasurable experience. I had a relatively minor operation on my knee and found his attention to detail incredible. Clinic appointments were always thorough and the phone call from him the day before my operation was a very caring touch. Despite fully understanding the procedure I was about to undergo, his visit just before the operation put me completely at ease. I felt that I could not be with a better surgeon for my care and treatment. I am only 9 days post surgery and feel I have made an excellent and uneventful recovery so far. The care and attention afforded to me at the Spire Alexandra hospital by his support team was excellent and cannot go without mention. Should the need arise I would not give a second thought to being treated by Simon Ellis again.

Mr Ellis has supported my son with a rugby injury. He has been brilliant with him, supportive but clear on what he needs to do to accelerate his recovery. Answered our questions and helped resolve technical issues with his leg brace. We both like his clear, direct but warm style

Mr Ellis stepped in at very short notice to carry out TKR on my right knee when my original surgeon unexpectedly became unavailable. On my first appointment with him pre-op he immediately put me at ease and reassured me that my existing operation timetable would be followed with no delays. ON admission day he explained clearly in language I could understand exactly what would happen. Mr Ellis and his theatre team did an excellent job giving me confidence that all would be well as it was. A nice personal touch after the op was for him to call my wife and assure her all went well with no issues. A BIG Thank you to Simon and his team for successfully getting me through the op in unusual circumstances as I am an NHS patient living 150 miles from the Spire Alexandra hospital where the op took place.

I always find Mr Ellis to be very honest. He listens to your concerns and what your symptoms are and then gives his suggestions as to the treatment best for you. My right knee that he operated on is now pain free and I can put weight on it to walk.

Mr Simon Ellis carried out my first right partial knee replacement in 2014 which was a great success, I was lucky enough to have Mr Ellis carry out my left partial knee replacement last week which I was so over the moon about, surgery was a success and had no problems at all. He is a lovely man puts you totally at ease and genuinely cares, he communicates fully with you regarding your procedure and fully explains everything in language that you understand, I am an NHS patient and truly grateful that I have had such a skilled surgeon carry out both of my knee replacements - Linda Garrett - 27 feb 2024
