I have had 2 ACL replacements in the same knee by two other consultants and when this one failed I took the advice of my osteopath and sought out Simon Ellis for his advice at KIMs hospital I would describe Simon as calm, professional, knowledgeable, approachable and treats his patients as valued individuals Simon arranged a CT scan in addition to the MRI and xrays I already had from my prior consultant. He discussed my lifestyle and how the knee issues affected me. He explained what he could see on the scans, discussing best option scenarios. This included referrals to particular specialists for the complex issue i had, with consideration of how I would get there and back following any procedure Any question is clearly answered and explained, and follow up appointments and letters quickly provided. A really nice man as well as 'top notch' consultant By far one of the best consultants i have seen over the years

I saw Mr Ellis after having an MRI scan on my knee. The scan revealed torn cartilage and ruptured Bakers Cyst. Mr Ellis discussed my options and we agreed that an arthroscopy was the best treatment. Mr Ellis was extremely helpful in explaining all the options and feel I made the right choice. Would thoroughly recommend Mr Ellis for any knee problem.

Mr Ellis was recommended to me by a previous patient from 10 years ago, who also ruptured her ACL. Mr Ellis put me at ease on our first meeting, not only is he professional and engaging, he also spoke to me as a person not a patient, he listened and explained the options, once he knew my hobbies, there was little choice, however it was a joint decision and I felt that I was in safe hands. On the day of the operation he once again explained everything. I saw him on waking in recovery and again on the ward when he explained what he had done, which was more than the Reconstruction. I am now 2.5 weeks post op and physio is going well. All staff at Spire are brilliant. I wish I had met Mr Ellis some 15 years ago. I would thoroughly recommend Mr Ellis.

Mr Ellis is not only a very good listener he is a caring person who explains everything in detail of the way forward. I have very recently had a partial knee replacement and am extremely happy with how things have gone from the beginning to where I am now. I have no hesitating in recommending Mr Ellis.
