I saw this man in 2022. He turned up late for my appointment then assessed my knee. Without any empathy or understanding he proceeded to tell me he would not operate on me until I had lost weight. This I understand but stood in a hospital bay stripped down to my undergarments being berated and pointed at by someone was a dreadful way to be treated. He then pointed to my leg and with disgust pointed with a pen to a scar on my leg. Said what’s that! I tried to explain it happened on holiday in Greece and was a cut that got infected. He wasn’t interested. . All in all. I left most upset. He told the nurse he wanted to see me in twelve months… 17months later, I got a new appointment. Sadly I have decided I would rather live with the pain than see him again. I am not particularly sensitive. I work full time stood on my feet and manage to keep happy. But I will not have this man treat me like that again. This is not a damning review. I just want anyone else who gets the man in a mood to know it’s not you. It is him.

Having recently been under Mr Cockshott following a fractured wrist at Derby Royal I cannot commend him highly enough, what a nice Man he is, caring, friendly, and professional whilst under the pressures of a very busy clinic. In fact the whole team were amazing and treated me with dignity, respect and kindness at all times.

A true gentleman, seemingly a well-liked colleague who is respectful, caring, and genuinely interested in the well being of his patients. Always greets his patients with a smile and a strong handshake, He is a good listener, and offers good advice to those he treats. I would really recommend this surgeon to any one in need of a new knee! After just 6 weeks, I am very much mobile, with little or no pain, and a very neat scar!! Thank you Mr Cockshott.
