I had my surgery with Mr Awad on the 19th of August having booked via Tonic 2-3 months earlier. Having done a lot of research I knew I wanted Mr Awad to be my surgeon and after speaking to him I was reassured I had made the right decision. He was happy to answer any questions I had. Even the Nursing team at the hospital all said if they had to pick a surgeon it would be Mr Awad and as a Nurse myself I trusted their opinion. The whole process was very organised with Tonic and they are easy to contact by email or phone. On the day of surgery I found the team at Burcott to be very friendly and attentive. I was a bit tearful when I went down to theatre and the anaesthetist and theatre nurse were so reassuring wiping away my tears. I am now 3 months post op. Pre surgery I prepared to regret it in the first few months because I knew it would be difficult. I absolutely have no regrets and although there are times where I wish I could eat more of something I am enjoying I am loving feeling in control of my diet and weight. I am enjoying shopping for new clothes and can finally look at myself in the mirror. The future feels exciting. The support from Tonic pre and post surgery has been invaluable with regular phone calls and support in the Facebook group. I have not needed to contact them very often because I have had no complications and everything has gone smoothly but I know that if I need to speak someone at Tonic or Mr Awad they are easy to contact and the support is there. I feel like I have been well looked after and would not hesitate to recommend Mr Awad, Tonic and Burcott Hall.

I received my gastric sleeve operation on 25th August 2023 this was preformed by Sherif Awad. Prior to the surgery Mr Awad spoke to me in detail explaining the operation and answering my long list of questions. He was patient and very professional covering all my concerns. On the day of surgery Mr Awad spoke clearly of the expectations and put me at ease. The surgery was over very quickly Mr Awad was able to also preform an hernia repair at the same time of surgery, which I was very grateful for. Mr Awad came to review me the same day and clearly explained the surgery to me. I at all times felt safe with the professional manner in which I was treated. The surgery and weightloss after three months as by far exceeded my expectations, my mobility as improved so much and painful joints through Lipoedema are so improved also. I can't say enough how this really has given a 64 year old a new lease of life. Thank you so much Mr Awad and Tonic surgery.
