Dr Awad was very kind understanding and non judgmental from the get go. I have always felt rather judged by other healthcare professionals about my weight previously but I felt at ease being honest and open with him. He didn’t pressure me at all. It was all very much I will give you my honest opinion and then you can go away and think about it ect. Operation day was very organised. Loved the theatre staff. All absolute gems. Seeing Mr Awad in the operating room you can see he is at ease and enjoys what he does - whilst listening to some great music too I might add! I honestly owe him and his team a lot. My life is worlds away from what it was. I’m happy. I’m feeling healthy and I know I made the best choice! Forever grateful and can’t speak highly enough of him and his team.

Mr Awad is a very professional and efficient surgeon. He provided me with all the information I needed and also answered any questions I had with such kindness and understanding. The whole process went extremely smoothly and I felt in the best hands the whole time. On the day of my surgery, everything was very calm and organised. Mr Awad had a great way of explaining the process and making me feel at ease. He is very eloquent and gently spoken which made me feel very comfortable. I was brilliantly looked after by the tonic team from start to finish, the nursing staff in the hospital were incredible and very attentive. The day after surgery, Mr Awad checked in with me and gave me details from the operation and advice on the best way to recover and going forward. I would recommend Mr Awad to anyone considering this surgery and I’m so grateful for the excellent job he did for me. I feel like a different person already and I’m so appreciative for all the support and guidance during the process. Wouldn’t change a single thing.

After speaking with Mr Awad in my first consultation I knew there was no one else I wanted to do my surgery. He was the kindest and most professional consultant I spoke to when considering gastric sleeve surgery. His reputation is fantastic and from my experience can see why. I felt in safe hands on the day of my operation in Derby. I had special requirements when is came to anaesthesia. Mr Awad and his team had everything in place ready for me along with the anaesthetist. The operation went smoothly and my recovery has been excellent. I am now 3 months post-op and cannot fault the aftercare I have had with everyone at Tonic and have just had my follow-up consultation with Mr Awad and he is happy with my progress as am I. I am feeling so much healthier and happier. Thank you so much for everything Mr Awad, you have changed my life!

From the very start of my admission to the very second of leaving I felt totally at home and completely relaxed. There wasn’t a second of doubt or anxiety, just pure excitement for my future. The nurses were incredible and Mr Awad was absolutely incredible - a miracle worker. My sleeve is working exactly as it should and I am 3 stone 8.5lbs lighter in the matter of 4 months. My only regret is that I didn’t do this years ago!!!
