It is now 5 weeks since my hernia operation . apart from the navel itching still all seems to be going to plan . I have not do anything heavy or strain full . just normal things about the house i still have some swelling in the groin area but i am assuming this will go down in time I am not taking any pain killers , this i stopped taking after the first week My only complaint is that no one told me about how constipated i would be while taking the pain killers . 3 days passed with out doing a stool . i was in great pain and discomfort. My wife recommended a laxative tablet which after many attempts a stool was passed. Perhaps this should have been mentioned to me before i left BUPA while taking the pain killers Kind Regards Ian Wright
