Whilst always retaining high levels of patient safety and patient care, Shankar provides an innovative, personalised service, employing the latest evidence-based practices. Shankar’s knowledge of the latest techniques in peri-operative management and the use of complementary digital technology has led to the development of a same-day discharge programme for selective hip and knee replacement patients. Procedures Shankar performs include all aspects of hip and knee replacement and revision surgery including the minimally-invasive direct anterior approach hip replacement. This approach has been widely shown to accelerate post-operative recovery, getting patients back to work and sport quicker. Additionally, he performs the full gamut of hip preservation procedures including the periacetabular osteotomy and hip arthroscopy. Shankar’s interests include football, cricket, photography and spending time with his young family.
