Mr Jaunoo performed a oesophagectomy on me in March 2021 at the RSCH Brighton. He and his team conducted themselves in a very professional manner at all times. Due to COVID, I spoke with Mr Jaunoo by telephone where he was extremely informative and made me feel comfortable with the surgery to come. There is no doubt that he is a tremendous fountain of knowledge on gastrointestinal subject matter and also at making me as a patient feel completely at ease. Prior to the operation, Mr Jaunoo came to see me and again go over what I was to expect during the 12 hour surgery that followed. He spoke to me in a way that gave me complete confidence in him and his team. Following surgery, he made regular visits to my bed where he updated me on how I was recovering always in a positive manner. Without a doubt due to his skill and expertise all the cancer has been removed. As for any improvements on how he could give greater care, I don't think this is possible

I was very appreciative of the care I received from Dr. Jaunoo. He clearly explained what the operation would entail in a manner I understood, and again after the operation explained how it had gone. He put me at ease and showed great empathy at the anxiery I felt. At empathy at the anxiety I felt.

I can’t recommend Mr Jaunoo enough. I have a somewhat complicated hernia history and having had a very bad experience in the past, was very anxious about my third hernia operation. To add to my anxiety, I was pregnant at the time of the operation. Mr Jaunoo took the time to answer all the questions my family and I had, was honest and transparent and throughout the whole process I felt supported. I’ve had a quick recovery and most importantly, baby and I were looked after throughout. I’m looking at a further, more permanent repair post baby and I would trust Mr Jaunoo to look after me. Trusting surgeons is something I find hard, given my experience. I can’t recommend him enough. Thank you so much for taking such good care of my baby and I.

Mr Jaunoo performed an oesophagectomy in March 2020. He welcomed me to the hospital and explained the procedure in a manner that was not only informative but comforting. This gentleman put me totally at ease ahead of major surgery. The surgery was extremely successful and Mr Jaunoo removed all of the tumour. After the operation, Mr Jaunoo saw me several times whilst I was in hospital and each time he was extremely kind and reassuring . I have just had a telephone consultation and once again Mr Jaunoo was caring and informative. My family and I cannot thank this man enough. I quite literally owe him my life. Thank you so much

I have had a hiatus hernia for over 3 years that has been extremely debilitating on my quality of life. Additionally, this condition being regarded as a non urgent procedure is rather misleading as the following will explain. The surgeon who carried out this procedure was fantastic and spent over 2.5 hours repairing my paraoesophagel hernia and Nissen fundoplication. The added complication was that where the hernia had spent so long resting on my lungs it had become moulded to them. This meant the surgeon had to carefully separate them. I can only thank the surgeon for the time and skill he used to give me a far better quality of life. However, if this procedure was measured as needing urgent treatment then I would not have lost those years of my retirement. Thank you for my treatment, however more research and funding should be made available for this area so earlier intervention can be prioritised.
