I was fortunate enough to be under the care of Mr Shameen Jaunoo and I can't express how grateful I am for the excellent care I received. From the start he pushed for the oesophagectomy to take place without delay and also kept in close contact with the ward doctors post op to ensure I received the correct aftercare. Furthermore, Mr Jaunoo consistently went above and beyond, even chasing up matters from home when off with covid. During the operation, the tumour was found to be slightly larger than expected. However, thanks to Mr Jaunoo's incredible expertise and the support of the surgical team, I am now technically cancer free. At the age of 36, I now have a second chance at life and for that I will forever be grateful.

I was extremely fortunate to have Mr Jaunoo as my surgeon. A very personable man with wide knowledge of procedures. He thoroughly explained the challenges of an Oesophagectomy due to it being such a major operation. He was extremely good at communicating the complexity of the operation and recovery period in a very comprehensive & undertsandable fashion. He answered all my questions with ease. After my operation, which was successful he was there with his team to encourage and support me in my healing process. I am delighted with the outcome of my operation as Mr Jaunoo's professional, highly skillful work has removed all the cancer. Mr Jaunoo is clearly very passionate about his work/profession and strives to achieve the best outcome for his patients. He went the extra mile to see everything progressed positively for me. I could not have wished for more from my surgeon at a very challenging time of my life. My family and I are eternally grateful & indebted to Mr Jaunoo for extending my life. I would highly recommend Mr Jaunoo to anyone with a similar disease.

Shameen Jaunno was recommended to me by another consultant after discovering I had Oesophageal cancer and needed a high risk major operation. The process involved a period of chemotherapy before the operation, a short period to regain some strength then the long operation itself. Whilst Shameen didn’t hold back about the magnitude of the task ahead the whole process and risks were at every stage thoroughly explained but with a confidence that made me (and my worried wife) feel we really did have the best consultant for the task ahead. Recovering at home now after all went well and now have a bright future to look forward to once more. No words can express our thanks to Shameen and the whole team who were very stretched and under real pressure due to Covid related staff shortages. A highly skilled consultant clearly at the very top of his game.
