I graduated from Stanley Medical College, Chennai, India. I have trained in nephrology in the North Thames , London and then in the Northern Renal Rotation having worked mostly at The Barts Health NHS trust(London) and Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. My clinical interests are in Acute Kidney Injury, Interventional nephrology and Dialysis. My research interests lie in Inherited Renal Diseases specially Ciliopathies. Kidney Research UK has funded my research in investigating the cystic kidney disease,Nephronophthisis, in Prof.Sayer's lab at Newcastle University for the past 4 years. I have pioneered the use of Human Urine derived Renal Epithelial cells (a non invasive way of isolating kidney cells) in Newcastle that can be used for research into a variety of renal conditions. Outside work I spend most of time with my family, cycling and playing squash.
