Ihad my left eye cataract operation at SPA medical on 2021. Still giving me problems! When my optician said my right eye needs cataract operation. I requested to go to Westmorland hospital in Kendal. I was so lucky to see Mr Nabili. He listened and understood my problem. He promised me he will look after me.I waited 2 years for my cataract operation for Mr Nabili on 5th September 2025. I visited Kendal hospital for a cataract assessment on my right eye.On examination Mr Nabili found that a piece of lens from a previous operation to my left eye carried out by Spa Medical had been left in my eye. He immediately booked me into his clinic for a washout to the anterior chamber of the eye. This was carried out two days later. During the times I have been seen by Mr Nabili he has been so caring and professional, explaining what was happening and what needed to be done. He is without doubt an outstanding Doctor who we are fortunate to have at Kendal.

I have been under Mr Nabili’s care since an eye operation he performed earlier this year. I attended Westmoreland hospital on the 19/09/2024 for an appointment with Mr Shadrokh Nabili regarding suspected glaucoma, during my appointment I found Mr Nabili to be most courteous and affable he was very thorough with his procedures and I felt that he had explained everything in detail in such a way that I understood everything that was happening, Mr Nabili also made a plan for future treatment and tests, overall I was very pleased with my appointment and I am much more aware of my diagnoses.

Mr Nabili can only really be described as an exceptional Ophthalmic Surgeon. Some months ago I was first seen by him as I had started developing Cataracts in both eyes and so needed them removing and new lenses fitting. I approached Mr Nabili with a very clear understanding of what I hoped to achieve through this procedure, looking for an outcome that would favour my distance vision but also weighted towards the removal of the night-time glare that I was experiencing particularly when driving. Mr Nabili listened and outlined all the options that were available in addressing my requirements, he is an extremely kind and patient man who took the time to work through this with me. He is meticulous in his preparation for the surgery with one of my eyes needing repeat scans because of a somewhat less than straightforward astigmatism, only when he had fully resolved this complexity did we proceed. I have now had both lenses replacement procedures, conducted simply with eye-drops, totally pain and discomfort free throughout. The results are simply astounding and perfectly match what I asked for but also significantly exceed my expectations. Amazingly I now have better than 100% vision with the complete absence of night-time glare. Night driving is now a joy again. In addition, I also have massively improved colour perception, an unexpected benefit. In simple terms, I have not seen this well since my childhood. Mr Nabili is a rare find, a kind, considerate listener to his patients needs, but coupled with a degree of professional and technical skill that is simply outstanding. I remain in this gentleman’s debt.
