Mr P is a truly amazing surgeon and a wonderful person. He is extremely patient an professional and explains things very well. He is kind and always strives to get the very best for each condition. I would say if you are assigned this man, you are extremely fortunate.

I left a few details out of my review. 1 2 3 4 5 Written by a NHS patient at Clatterbridge Hospital 26th July 2021 I was very fortunate to have Dr Poonawala as my surgeon at Clatterbridge Breast Clinic. In Jan 2021I had found a lump in my breast. After diagnosis of cancer I had a mastectomy and then further surgery for node clearance. Through the whole journey I felt in the safest possible hands. Mr Poonawala really listened to my concerns, reassured me throughout with his absolute confidence and quite often had to provided tissues along the way. Post surgery I have crossed over to the Oncology team but I have had cause to see Mr Poonawala again regarding a different issue and once again he was very open and welcoming and I can not thank him enough for his time and patience which settled me into my road to recovery. In May this year I had a routine mamagram & unfortunately was diagnosed with breast cancer. Hearing those words was the scariest I've ever felt in my life. Mr Poonawala who I was lucky enough to have as my surgeon was not only very professional but kind & easy to talk to. He explained everything to me from options, procedures & after care. I had a lumpectomy on the 26th May and have just finished a course of radiotherapy. I would just like to thank Mr Poonawala for the exceptional job he did. I am so pleased with my result and recovering well. I would also like to thank the rest of the team for all the care and support I received. Your all so professional, kind & caring. 3rd February 2020 In my previous review, I forgot to add my name. In December I was diagnosed with breast cancer and in January I had a lumpectomy. Mr Poonawala, my surgeon was exceptionally good. He explained everything to me clearly before and after surgery. Very easy to talk to. I didn’t know what to expect the result would be, but I was really pleased. Mr Poonawala did an exceptional job, and I’m delighted. He was great from start to finish. I am now due to start radiotherapy. Thank you very much for everything. Thank you again Carole Lysaght
