I had a gastric bypass done by this doctor, he was very caring and understanding, he helped me understand completely about the surgery I had done, just before I went into theatre, he explained fully what the surgery involved and he was the doctor who was going to do my surgery. The after care I received from St Mary's Hospital where he works was great and the constant care from himself and his colleagues was fantastic, when I saw him afterwards, he actually remembered me and was pleased to see me, and that I was happy with my Surgery.

I have seen Mr Sanjay Purkayastha a number of times over the last 3 years now and I am very impressed at the way he talks to his patients and always made me feel at ease. He is very informative of all treatments and would go into detail and happily answer any concerns that I may have had. I was more than happy with my treatment and wish all doctors were more like Mr Purkayastha.

Mr Purkayastha was absolutely amazing and incredibly thorough in his approach to my surgery. Having previously performed an appendectomy Mr Purkayastha noticed a tiny legion on my bowel and after having it scanned we decided to remove it with key hole surgery. I am so grateful as this prevented a possible bowel obstruction in the future. Mr Purkayastha was incredibly attentive and personable and I couldn't recommend him highly enough.

I recently underwent laperoscopic surgery to repair a hernia with Mr Purkayastha. From the first consultation onwards he was at pains to explain in detail what he was going to do and how it would affect me in the short term. His pleasant, quiet, yet confident manner gives one complete trust in his surgery and this trust has been well founded. After surgery in his follow up he again explained what he had done and used photographs to explain and demonstrate this. A thoroughly nice surgeon whom I would have no hesitation in recommending to any prospective patient.
