Doctor Sanjay has changed my life for the better. He is a fantastic doctor who encourage you to do well in the pre and post surgery. The work that he does makes me have so much faith and respect for the NHS because he is a credit to them. I have had gastric bypass surgery in June 2014 and I felt very much safe and secure with my treatment under doctor Sanjay's care. Making the decision to go through this incredibly life changing surgery is the best decision I have ever made with the help, guidance, confidence and understanding of doctor Sanjay, he is a wonderful man with a great gift, that gift is to change life's. I would recommend anyone to choose him as your doctor because in my opinion you will be under the finest quality of care.

I first saw Mr. Purkayastha after a complication post c-section when I really wasn't well at all. He immediately made me feel calm and reassured. He explained the situation to me in a very clear manner and I was made to feel like I was in the best hands. I am still under his care and would highly reccomend him!

Mr Purkayasha was very professional and thorough in his analysis and examination of what was wrong with my daughter. Within a few hours he had diagnosed the problem - which three other doctors had missed and she was on the way to recovery. I'd highly recommend him in to others and will certainly be using his services in the future.

As a colleague I can truly say that Sanjay is the best doctor that I know. His knowledge of general medicine truly compliments his surgical skills and caring nature- meaning that he always delivers the best care possible to his patients. His high standards are a lesson to us all, and I know that if I or my family and friends are ever unwell - he will be the first person I call (and I have done that before!).

Mr Purkayastha has been so helpful, caring, and considerate to me during my time I was under his care. Throughout my time in hospital and in the run up to my operation, he constantly checked that I understood what was happening and would happen, explaining details in a clear but not undermining way. In addition, he also let my mum know what was going on. She came off with a really positive view of him and the NHS as a whole, particularly after the operation when he came to see me and asked to call her, letting her know how it had gone and how I was then. Mr Purkayastha has been amazing help and has given me a really positive impression of how the NHS at St Mary's runs as a whole. I can give no feedback on how his care could be improved, as he ticked every box for me and went to extra levels to make me and my mum assured and confident about my care and surgery.
