Profile

I trained and worked as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Indian Armed Forces before moving and settling in Yorkshire in 2003. Since 2009 I have been working as a Consultant at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals and became Head of Women's Services in 2017. I am also the Clinical Lead for Cancers for the Trust and regularly perform total laparoscopic hysterectomy for early endometrial cancers, laparoscopic removal of ovarian cysts or removal of ovaries to prevent cancers in BRCA gene mutation carriers.

I have been treating women with heavy periods by performing endometrial ablation. I have managed fibroids through hysteroscopic resection of submucous fibroids, myomectomy or hysterectomy. I regularly perform vaginal prolapse surgery and treat vulval diseases. I have a special interest in the management of menopause and prevention of osteoporosis. I am passionate about teaching and train colleagues and junior doctors in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery.

Last year I fulfilled my desire to become a skydiver by completing the AFF course! I like to trek and run for fitness and raise money for charity. I also love cooking and spending time with my family.
