I first met Mr Hanna on the morning of my surgery. He came in and introduced himself and went through step by step what was going to happen. He also explained the importance of meeting the team that would be involved in the surgery and said that they would be along individually to introduce themselves and let me know what role they play in the procedure - indeed they did and all my worries were put at ease. Clearly Mr Hanna has an amazing relationship with his staff as the atmosphere in the theatre was incredible - everybody was happy and as far as I could tell they enjoy working with him. On subsequent post-op visits to see Mr Hanna, I have greatly appreciated his listening skills and making me feel at ease so I could ask questions and so grateful that he answered the questions at a level I could fully understand. As for the surgery and how I'm doing 7 months down the line - I can only say I am absolutely delighted with the results and this is totally due to Mr Hanna's expertise in hip surgery and expertise in leading a team of true professionals who have a full understanding of the importance of patient care and how to relate to people pre and post surgery. Respect for others is a huge factor for me and I'd like to say that I have seen Mr Hanna speaking to all levels of staff and noticed that he gives his staff whether someone who goes in to theatre with him or the receptionist exactly the same level of attention and respect. I would also like to mention that his staff at the Gateway Surgical Centre also gave me their undivided attention when I spoke to them and this must be filtered down through the ranks (nurses, receptionists, radiologists). I have total faith in Mr Hanna and couldn't be any happier with the surgery and after care. I would like to close by thanking Mr Hanna from the bottom of my heart for my new hip as it has totally transformed my life and I'm praying that he will perform the surgery on my other hip when the time comes!!!
