Mr. Russo graduated in Rome with a first class honour degree in Medicine and Surgery. He was awarded a Doctoral Degree (MD) on radio-biology of central nervous system tumour at the University of Rome “Tor Vergara”. Between 2003 and 2004 he completed a research fellowship in Neuro-trauma at the Institute of Neurology in London. Mr. Russo trained as a Neurosurgeon at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London and The Wessex Neurosurgical Centre in Southampton. Mr. Russo main clinical and academic interest is in Spinal Surgery. He completed a fellowship in Complex Spine Surgery at Southmead Hospital in Bristol and the Central London Spine Fellowship at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He was also awarded a clinical fellowship with Prof D. Riew at Columbia University in New York. Currently, He has been appointed as a Consultant in Spinal Surgery at Imperial College. His main interests are spinal degenerative disease, trauma, spinal oncology, spinal deformity. His research has been published and cited in high impact peer review journals and presented at numerous international conferences.
