I had colonoscopy + gastroscopy today by Dr Loganathan. He was actively listening to me, he was quick but gave me all the relevant information. . He has a deep understanding of his specialisms and this gave me confidence in the way I was being treated. The camera tests (several biopsies taken) were painless and he was very fast a precise during the procedures. I felt I was in safe hands.

Attended an NHS consultation and investigation with Mr Langanathan at Euxton Hall and Buckshaw Hospital He is a consumate knowledgeable, skilled professional. Having suffered for some 3 years with undiagnosed condition Mr Langanathan examined then surgically investigated the issue prescribing a potential remedy I was especially impressed with his no nonsense, speedy, careful approach as it suited my temperament completely. Mr Langanathan and the surgical staff at Buckshaw Hospital offered speedy, efficient cheerful treatment showing understanding and empathy for my anxious state putting me at ease. Heartfelt thanks and wholearted recommendation from this patient.

I saw Mr Loganathan on the NHS. He is obviously under a lot of pressure. You get the impression that he may not be fully attentive but he is just so intelligent he is one of those people who can filter out the relevant from irrelevant. I was astonished how much he could relate onwards in a letter to the hospital and the GP. The only reason I have dropped a star on the rating is he sent my letter to Colo-rectal but they said they only deal with cancer patients so they said they had not received my letter. I am now waiting under a different consultant at the NHS hospital so my visit to Mr Loganathan has not achieved anything afterall and I am still suffering but not really his fault just the hospital have lost my letter?

I disagree with the negative reviews that have been left for Mr Loganathan. I spoke to him on the telephone after being transferred to his list and had no problems speaking to him. I saw him on the morning of the operation (hernia repair) and he was perfectly pleasant in in going through the procedure and associated risks. I then saw him in the afternoon after my operation and again he was perfectly fine. I then saw him two days later after I contacted the hospital about some swelling and he put my mind at rest, I then saw him whilst waiting for a new dressing to be applied, and he spoke to me and explained that they were short staffed (due to illness) but he would ask them to speed up the process of changing the dressing. I would be happy to see him again and be operated on by him.

Attended an appointment as an NHS patient at a private hospital, saw Mr Loganathan, he wasn't rude but he only perfunctorily listened to me and was clearly on a tight time schedule (which I imagine wasn't his choice). Overall I don't think the human touch is his thing. I am now left with a deep disquiet as to whether to have surgery with him or return to a ( long )waiting list. To be honest I think I will return to the list, he is probably an excellent surgeon but I don't know if I trust him as a human being.
